Student Activities

A notice of interest will be sent out at the beginning of the year to grades 3-5. Students who are chosen for Rocket Choir show excellence in all BLAST expectations, have great attendance, and are outstanding music students.

Safety Patrol is our student leaders of the school. These select 5th-grade students volunteer their time to monitor the campus hallways during dismissal and assist with afternoon car riders. Students can be easily identified by their safety vests. The students show a desire to help the school run smoothly.

The Rocket News Crew is for selected 5th-grade students. Students are able to apply for this select group during the spring semester of their 4th-grade year and then again in the first nine weeks of their 5th grade year. Students apply through a multi-level process that includes an application, a portfolio that includes a sample video, and teacher referrals. Students accepted into the Rocket News crew show excellence in academics, character, and attendance. 

This group of students meets Monday-Thursday mornings between 7:45 - 8:20 a.m. in the Library Media Center with Ms. Young. Students create the script, record, and edit daily morning announcement videos.
